Crystal City Flats 2BR / Free Parking

The building this apartment is located in has issues with security, hot water, and temperature control. Hot water came in and out, sometimes going very cold in the middle of a shower. At best we had 2 showers of warm water, after it took about 10 minutes to heat up once you turn on the shower. The heating system depends on very old thermostats in each room, which are inprecise and in one bedroom the heater never actually turned on. The fan that blows out the heat in the master bedroom squeals loudy, so you have to choose between loud noise or a cold room. The building door lock had been removed, and the actual apartment only has a flimsy deadbolt with no latch lock or extra way to lock the door. There are very few supplies in the apartment, no tupperware / bags / cooking spray / aluminum foil / spices / cooking oil. Everything just felt like the bare minimum effort was put into getting tenants. Owner was unresponsive for days, then I got hold the company that is managing it now apparently. Very minor effort was put into addressing these building issues (heat, hot water). Internet was fairly slow. The location is okay, bedding was okay but there are no extra blankets laying around (1 light comforter per bed). Free parking is good, but even in the winter the parking was completely full at times despite fairly low occupancy.

The rooms were clean, the layout was really nice.

It was just okay. Positive: Free and easy parking. Negative: Laundry was down stairs. The bedrooms need dressers and mirrors. Curtains would’ve helped block outside noise. The kitchen could’ve been cleaner.

Great location next to park, free parking, top floor, clean, comfortable.

The accommodations were clean, neat, close to all, and very comfortable.
