while the apartment was clean, it was in disrepair. The floor had been painted white and the paint had peeled off in numerous spots. The venetian blinds had slats that were broken. The stove was an old white one that looked like it was decades old. The chairs in the living area could use a good cleaning.My main concern however was SAFETY. I was given a code to the building front door and there was indeed a key pad there. But the door was always left unlocked. I asked Kristen about it and she said it was never locked and it was a safe neighborhood. As a solo traveller this made me worry. I addition, there was a safety chain on the inside of the apartment door that did not work. Again, as a solo traveller this did not make me feel safe. When I asked Kristen if it could be fixed, she said not, they did not have the resources to do so. Kristen said it was not meant to work, that it was a holdover from when the building functioned as a apartment building. She thought the dead bolt on the door was sufficient. I disagree. Another issue was the stairs. There is not elevator in the building and hauling a heavy suitcase up a set of 10 steep stairs to get to the door was very difficult. and what is described as a "path" from the parking lot is actually a series of more steps and landings. Finally the bathroom was outdated and around the taps was rust. Water temp was uneven at best. On the positive side the two king beds and comfortable linens were lovely.

So great to walk into a lovely living space with the air conditioning on after hours of travelling. The spaces were as depicted in the photos: nice kitchen area stocked with coffee and tea and a Nespresso machine. Bonus microwave popcorn and Bubly sparkling water.Towels in the hallway near the bathroom. White noise machines in each bedroom, Large bottles of body wash and shampoo and conditioner.An easy walk to a busy street full of restaurants. 7-11 and CVS and McDonald’s nearby and a 20 minute walk up to the Crystal City Metro stop. Close to the airport and an easy Uber/Lyft ride to typical tourist places near the National Mall.There are stairs to get to the building and need to walk up two flights to the place, so that would be difficult for someone with mobility issues or big luggage.Would have liked some command hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom.Overall a great place to stay for a week!

Very convenient to the conference I was attending. Lovely space.

Clean and bright with many thoughtful touches: coffee, flavored sparkling water, microwave popcorn.

The rooms were clean, the layout was really nice.
